Why Lovina? A quiet north coast with black sand, hot springs and dolphins offshore.

Lovina is the laid-back north coast with black sand, hot springs and dolphins offshore. Quiet and unpolished, far from the southern crowds — often combined with nearby Munduk.
Life here revolves around the beach and the sunrise dolphin trips. No buzzing nightlife, but genuine peace and quiet.

Lovina lies on the north coast, some 2.5 to 3 hours from the south over the mountains (a lovely route via Munduk). Thanks to the distance it's quiet and relatively cheap. The sea is calm and the sand is dark.
The classic is the sunrise dolphin trip — go with an operator that treats the animals respectfully. Beyond that: snorkelling on the house reef, the Banjar hot springs, the Buddhist monastery Brahma Vihara Arama and waterfalls like Gitgit and Aling-Aling nearby.
Peace seekers and families wanting to explore the north, or travellers passing through towards Munduk and West Bali. Less suitable for anyone expecting a beach party or turquoise water.
