Where to stay in Seminyak: best areas & hotels

Dining-and-shopping Oberoi, upscale Petitenget or livelier Double Six — which suits you.

Seminyak is compact but has distinct pockets, and where you stay decides whether you wake up steps from the best restaurants, the top beach clubs, or a quieter stretch of sand. Here's each area, what it suits, and how to pick your base in Bali's most stylish beach town.

Quick answer: stay around Jalan Kayu Aya (Oberoi) for dining and shopping in the heart of it; Petitenget for upscale hotels near the top beach clubs; Double Six for a livelier, better-value stretch toward Legian; and Batu Belig for a quieter base toward Canggu.

Oberoi / Kayu Aya — the walkable heart

Best for: dining, shopping, first-timers

"Eat Street" (Jalan Kayu Aya) and its lanes are the heart of Seminyak: the best restaurants, boutiques and cafés, a short walk to the beach and Ku De Ta. Stay here if you want everything on foot and don't mind paying a little more for the location.

Petitenget — upscale & beach clubs

Best for: comfort, beach clubs, couples

Just north, Petitenget is home to smart hotels and villas and the big beach clubs (Potato Head). A polished, slightly calmer base with the sunset scene on your doorstep — great for couples and a comfortable stay.

Double Six — lively & better value

Best for: value, nightlife, beach bars

Toward the Legian border, the Double Six area is livelier and generally better value, with beanbag beach bars and easy nightlife. Good if you want the Seminyak beach and buzz without the top-end prices.
