A surf lesson, a beach sunset, Waterbom and a temple day trip — Bali's busiest beach town in two days.

Kuta is made for an easy couple of days: learn to surf, laze on the beach for sunset, spend a day at Waterbom and the malls, and use its central-south spot to catch a clifftop temple sunset. Here's how to do it — perfect as a first or last stop on a Bali trip.
The plan:Day 1 a morning surf lesson, a relaxed afternoon and a Kuta Beach sunset, then dinner and the Jalan Legian strip. Day 2 Waterbom Bali and the malls — or a sunset day trip to Uluwatu temple or Tanah Lot.
Day 1 — Surf & sunset
Beach day
Morning: a 2-hour surf lesson on the beginner beach break.
Afternoon: relax on Kuta Beach, or a spa/massage.
Sunset: a beanbag and a Bintang on the sand.
Evening: dinner and the Jalan Legian nightlife.

Day 2 — Waterbom or a temple
Pick your pace
Relaxed/family: a full day at Waterbom Bali, then the Beachwalk mall.
Or culture: a day trip to the Uluwatu temple for the Kecak dance at sunset.
Or the icon: Tanah Lot sea temple at sunset (~45 min north-west).
Plenty — one for a morning surf lesson, the beach and a Kuta sunset, one for Waterbom and shopping or a sunset temple day trip. Most people use Kuta as a one- or two-night first/last stop rather than a long stay.
What is the best way to spend 2 days in Kuta?
Day one: a morning surf lesson, a relaxed afternoon and a Kuta Beach sunset, then the Jalan Legian nightlife. Day two: Waterbom Bali and the malls, or a day trip to Uluwatu temple for the Kecak dance and sunset.
Is Kuta a good first stop in Bali?
Yes — minutes from the airport, cheap, with easy surf and all the basics, so it's a practical first or last stop before heading to quieter areas.
