Waterfall trails, a swim under the twin falls, the lake temple and a plantation trek — Bali's mountain north in two days.

Munduk packs waterfalls, lakes, a temple and forest trails into a compact stretch of cool highland — so two days is the sweet spot. One for the waterfalls, one for the lakes and temple, with mountain air and mist throughout. Here's how to spend them.
The plan:Day 1 the Munduk & Melanting waterfall loop, then the Banyumala twin falls and a swim. Day 2 early light at the twin-lakes viewpoint, the Ulun Danu Beratan temple, and a coffee-plantation trek before moving on.
Day 1 — Waterfalls
Chase the falls
Morning: the Munduk & Melanting waterfall loop through the jungle.
Midday: drive to the Banyumala twin waterfalls for a swim.
Afternoon: a coffee with a valley view back in the village.
Evening: dinner at your ridge guesthouse as the mist rolls in.

Day 2 — Lakes & temple
Up to the lakes
Early: the twin-lakes (Buyan & Tamblingan) ridge viewpoint in soft light.
Morning: the Ulun Danu Beratan lake temple before the buses.
Midday: a plantation trek or a canoe on Lake Tamblingan.
Afternoon: drive on toward Lovina or back to Ubud.
Two days is ideal — one for the waterfall trail and the Banyumala twin falls, one for the twin lakes viewpoint, the Beratan temple and a plantation trek. Day-trippers only scratch the surface, so a night here is well worth it.
What is the best way to spend 2 days in Munduk?
Day one: the Munduk and Melanting waterfall loop, then the Banyumala twin falls and a swim. Day two: early light at the twin-lakes viewpoint, the Ulun Danu Beratan temple, and a coffee-plantation trek before moving on.
Should you visit Munduk or stay in the south?
Munduk is worth at least a night if you like waterfalls, lakes, cool air and hiking. It pairs naturally with a route between Ubud and the north coast (Lovina), rather than as a day trip from the far south.
