This policy explains what information Bali Explorer collects when you use our website and app (bali-explorer.com and the Bali Explorer app), why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Bali Explorer is a travel planning and hotel booking service for Bali, Indonesia. For any privacy question you can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

Account details (optional). If you sign in, we store your email address and a login code (we do not use passwords). This lets you find your trip and bookings on any device.
Your trip. The destinations, nights, activities and saved hotels you add — so we can show your itinerary. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account; otherwise it stays on your device.
Bookings. When you book a hotel, we process the details needed for that booking (your name, contact details and stay dates). Payment card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
Messages. If you chat with our team or your driver in the app, we store those messages to provide the service.
Notifications (optional). If you enable push notifications, we store a notification token for your device so we can send booking and trip updates.
Preferences. Small cookies/local data for your language, currency and session.
Technical data. Standard server and security logs (such as IP address and browser type) used to run the service securely and reliably.

How we use your information

To plan your trip and show your itinerary, hotels and saved items.
To process and manage your hotel bookings and send confirmations.
To let you chat with our team or driver, and to send notifications you asked for.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
To remember your language and currency preferences.

We do not show advertising, sell your personal data, or track your precise location.

Bookings & payments

Hotel availability, prices and bookings are provided through our booking partner (LiteAPI / Nuitée). Payments are processed securely by Stripe. These partners receive the information needed to complete and support your booking, under their own privacy terms.

Affiliate links

Some links in the app (for example eSIM, activities, tickets, travel insurance or car rental) are affiliate links. If you click them and make a purchase, the partner may set its own cookies and pay us a commission. This never adds any cost for you.

Third parties we work with

Hosting & security: Hostinger (hosting) and Cloudflare (content delivery and security).
Hotel bookings: LiteAPI / Nuitée. Payments: Stripe.
Affiliate partners: e.g. Travelpayouts and MobiMatter (eSIM).
Messaging: Meta (WhatsApp) if you choose to chat via WhatsApp.
Maps: map tiles and map links (Esri, Google Maps).
Email: to send you login codes and booking confirmations.

We only share what each partner needs to provide its part of the service.

Cookies & local storage

We use a small number of functional cookies and on-device storage to remember your language, currency, session and trip. We do not use advertising cookies. Affiliate partners may set their own cookies when you click their links.

How long we keep data

We keep your account and trip data until you ask us to delete it, or after a long period of inactivity. Booking records are kept as long as needed to support the booking and to meet legal or accounting requirements.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to stop certain processing. To do so, email [email protected] and we will respond. You may also delete your account, which removes your saved trip and account data.

Children

Bali Explorer is intended for travellers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a clear notice.
